Soliloquy

The soliloquy I chose is in Act Four scene 3, lines 15-59.In this  soliloquy  Juliet is saying how god knows when her and Romeo will meet again, and how fear runs though her veins. She is contemplating if she should get the nurse to be there when she takes the vial because she's scared, but then she realizes she can't be there because no one can no and the nurse won't let her do that to herself. Then she grabs the vial  but lots of thoughts are going through her head like what if the vial doesn't work at all, what if the Friar wants to kill her because how he married her and Juliet so he wouldn't get in trouble. She is also is thinking what if she awakes in the tomb before anyone arrives to get her out, and what if she runs out of air and dies in the tomb. Also if she has to lie beside Tybalt and if she goes crazy and playing with the dead bodies and if she takes one if her relatives dead bones and hits it against her head. Then she takes  the vial and says" Romeo, Romeo, Romeo, here's drink! I drink to thee" which means she is drinking the vial to Romeo.

The significance this soliloquy has to the story is, this is why Romeo  and Juliet die because of the vial the Friar gave her. The choice she made to drink the vial causes the confusion with the letter and makes Romeo think she is actually dead. This causes Romeo to kill himself then when Juliet wakes up she realizes Romeo is dead so she kills her self then both end up dead. This is the reason why  this story is called the greatest love story of all time because they both kill themselves for each other. This is why this story is so famous because of how apparently their love conquers over death. This is the significance this soliloquy has to the story Romeo and Juliet.

Why I chose this soliloquy is because personally I think this is the most important soliloquy in the story Romeo and Juliet. This soliloquy is why this story is so famous and is called the most greatest love story of all time. I also chose this soliloquy because this is probably my least soliloquy in the play, I think Juliet is really stupid to this for Romeo only for knowing him for a few days, and how she is willing to pretend to kill her self and never see her family again and run of with Romeo. I just think that it's really stupid how she got married to him after knowing him for two days and know is willing to take the vial and was willing to kill herself. I just think its all so crazy how she is deciding and decides to take a vial to fake her death and run of with Romeo. This is why I chose this soliloquy.

  1. This is a really good soliloquy. I think it was a different light that you saw, the way you descripted it was really nice too. Nice spelling and grammer, great job.

  2. I think there's more of an importance to the play than that. It's not just foreshadowing I think.

  4. i like how you think this soliloquy makes romeo and Juliet kill themselves...which i think is kinda true too...but i think you have to translate the soliloquy not explain it

  5. i like what your opinion was its different most people would go on about how cute it is that romeo and Juliet are so in love that she would kill herself and do all these crazy things when she has really only known romeo for like a week

  6. I agree with Pakriti and Jayde. You looked at this soliloquy in a whole different way rather than this being faith.
